The Community Builders Names Elizabeth González Suárez Vice President of Community Life

The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB), one of America’s leading nonprofit developers of mixed-income housing, has named Elizabeth González Suárez vice president of Community Life. Reporting to Bart Mitchell, president and CEO, González Suárez will serve as a member of the leadership team and advance the powerful role TCB and partner institutions play in providing access to opportunity for families and seniors in TCB communities across 14 states and Washington, D.C.

Previously, González Suárez served as the director of Community Health Practice at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and the deputy director of the U54 Partnership Outreach Program. Most of her 20-year tenure with DFCI was dedicated to designing and implementing evidence-based programs that promote public health among high-risk and underserved populations. She was also active in the DFCI diversity initiative to increase the representation of people of color in health professions.

González Suárez’s new appointment advances TCB’s strategic plan to facilitate opportunities for resident and neighborhoods to achieve improved educational, personal, social and economic success.

An active member of Greater Boston’s civic and cultural community, González Suárez serves on the DFCI Community Benefits External Advisory Committee, the Jordan Boys & Girls Club advisory board and the Roxbury Mass in Motion leadership team.
