About Tatiana de Rosnay

Tatiana de Rosnay is the most widely read French writer outside of France. She was Europe’s third bestselling novelist in 2011 - just behind Stieg Larsson and Dan Brown - officially making her the biggest selling female novelist in Europe. It wasn’t until her first English-language novel, Sarah’s Key, that Tatiana broke into the U.S. market (the novel stayed for 156 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list) and was brought to the attention of UK readers. Sarah’s Key has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and was adapted for film, an international box office hit starring Kristin Scott Thomas. On the tail of this success Manderley for ever has been on the bestseller list since its publication in France. Of English, French and Russian descent, she was raised in Paris and then in Boston. She was once press attaché for Christie’s, Paris Editor for Vanity Fair magazine and regularly publishes articles for magazines such as Madame Figaro and Elle.

About the Book

With over 100,000 copies sold in France and a nomination for the Prix Goncourt (in the Biography category), Manderley for ever explores the life of novelist Daphné du Maurier. Du Maurier’s work inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s movies Rebecca and The Birds, her books sold in millions and were translated into forty languages, yet the circumstances of her life remain enigmatic. A portrait of one writer by another, Manderley for ever meticulously recounts a life as mysterious as the work it produced, and highlights du Maurier’s passion for a manor in Cornwall, a veritable obsession that consumed her incessantly.

“It is well written, and very moving. I am sure my mother would have loved this book.” - Tessa Montgomery d’Alamein, daughter of Daphné du Maurier (in an interview for the magazine Point de Vue)
