Crossroads Presents: Tyler Ward with Amy Allen

Live at The Red Room at Cafe 939, 12/18/15, 7PM, Admission $16

Tyler Ward has become a well-known artist in part through his use of social media, posting a mix of covers and originals on YouTube. Ward has successfully completed four worldwide tours as headliner and has played shows with many mainstream artists including Switchfoot, the Beach Boys, Aloe Blacc, the Jonas Brothers, and the Fray, among others. Throughout his music video career, Ward has performed and produced most of his early songs and many of his current ones in his parents’ basement, which he has turned into a proper recording space. Nowadays, Ward produces most of his music on the road or in his Los Angeles studio. He was number five on Billboard’s Top 100 Uncharted List and was also ranked on Billboard’s Social 50 Chart for several weeks.

Amy Allen from Boston-based indie-pop band Amy & the Engine will perform a solo acoustic set. Her band’s long-awaited debut EP, TandeMania, was released in November 2015 and features six retro-pop tunes described by the Huffington Post as having “groovy girl-group melodies, catchy hooks, peppy pop, classic rock muscle, and meaningful lyrics.” As part of Amy & the Engine, Allen has performed for VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, New York City’s CMJ Music Marathon, and Boston’s Listen Local as well as opened 2015 shows for Kasey Musgraves, Vance Joy, the Veronicas, and Rachel Platten.
