Dan Blakeslee / Brett Newski / BEARD
Folk artist Dan Blakeslee, with support from Brett Newski and BEARD, performs live at the Red Room March 29th at 8pm!

With a suitcase of songs, Maine folk troubadour Dan Blakeslee ventured into the subways of Boston in 1995 to practice his craft. He has been making music and art throughout New England ever since. Blakeslee bares his soul in his music, emptying a cache of emotion and passion onto the stage for the audience to explore and devour. He has toured the country, playing with acts such as the Low Anthem, David Wax Museum, the Lumineers, Liam Finn, and Kimya Dawson, among others, and in 2015 he lived his dream of playing the Newport Folk Festival.
Brett Newski is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and former member of Madison, Wisconsin band the Nod. His style has been described as American folk armageddon, which happens to be the name of his new record. He has been compared to the Violent Femmes, Frank Turner, Jake Bugg, and Ben Kweller.
BEARD is a six-piece group from Berklee College of Music that plays folky singer-songwriter tunes inspired by jazz harmony, worldly rhythms, and the lyrics of greats like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan.
