Earls Kitchen + Bar Eyes Opening at the Prudential Center

Earls Kitchen + Bar, one of North America’s most successful independent restaurant groups, soon will open their second Massachusetts location within The Shops at the Prudential Center in Boston’s Back Bay. Opening in September, the new location will join Earls’ Northeast flagship restaurant at Assembly Row in Somerville. Earls Kitchen + Bar – a restaurant and bar now with 66 locations in Canada and the United States – presents a diverse, globally-inspired menu in a casually sophisticated setting filled with authentic hospitality. With a scratch kitchen highlighting the use of fresh local ingredients along with regional specials and a craft cocktail program rooted in shaking up clever twists on the classics, Earls Kitchen + Bar at the Prudential Center will be home to different dining and social experiences in its lively lounge and bar areas, vast dining room and unmatched rooftop patio.

In 1982, Leroy Earl “Bus” Fuller and his son Stanley Earl Fuller – who continue to own and operate the family business – had a simple idea to open a laid-back burger-and-beer joint… outfitted with over 300 papier-mâché parrots. Years later, they formed a team of top talents and traveled the world to taste, drink and experience, creating a new incarnation of Earls. Today, the brand manifests itself as a collection of independently compelling restaurants that are curated specifically for their geographical surroundings and core demographics.

With comforting yet innovative design features, the Prudential Center location will set the stage for a multi-level, 14,500 square foot space complete with a three-season rooftop patio and lounge. Upon entering from the shopping center’s arcade level, guests will find themselves in an HDTV-lined upbeat cocktail bar where the beverage team will churn out six smart takes on the Old Fashioned in addition to pouring authentic craft cocktails, balanced libations with a twist of novelty, local and regional craft beer selections and an unpretentious wine list focused on quality and value.

Proceeding upstairs, its 300-seat dining room will be anchored by an expansive open feature kitchen where guests will have the opportunity to sit at a “kitchen counter” to catch all the action of Earls’ signature made-from-scratch cuisine and creations designed specifically for its Prudential Center location. At its core, Earls offers a global menu with modern versions of ethnic cuisine staples ranging from bibimbap, jeera chicken curry, sushi and south-of-the-border specialties in addition to serving up classics like gourmet burgers, steaks and fresh seafood. The second level also will offer a dynamic lounge and bar area where their cocktail gurus will shake-and-stir modernized classics like the Whiskey Sour and Paper Plane as well as house specialties such as Frozen Pink Lemonade and Absinthe Minded. By popular demand, the eye-catching papier-mâché animals that were featured in Earls’ original Canadian location have made their glorious return to the brand and the walls will feature a large collection of artwork from local Boston artists.

Outdoors, Earls Kitchen + Bar at the Prudential Center will be home to a three-season rooftop bar and lounge that is decked with fire-pits, a sprawling mature tree and an ivy-lined wall. Earls’ scenic al fresco space will seat 200 and feature a retractable roof for city stargazing in addition to offering a lowered private area with relaxed lounge seating for social group outings, celebratory occasions or a romantic night out on the town.
