Etre ou ne pas etre Charlie
Free panel discussion on the impact of the Charlie Hebdo attack. Fri, April 10, 6:30-8:30 PM. The French Cultural Center, 53 Marlborough St.

On January 7th, the office of Charlie Hebdo was the scene the deadliest terror attack in France since 1961. The satirical weekly magazine is a territory of criticism and mocking of politics, religion and society. The level of provocation it displays is unknown in the U.S., outside underground publications.
Following the events, reactions have been intense and very diverse.
On Friday, April 10th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, The French Cultural Center will present a free panel discussion to discuss the topic of humor and satire in connection with religion. Our diverse panel of experts includes Virginie Greene, Professor at Harvard University, and creator of Blog “Etre ou ne pas être Charlie en Amérique du Nord” , Etienne Copeaux, specialist on Modern Turkey, and Muriel Rouyer, Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School.
