"Beautiful Mind" Author Sylvia Nasar Speaks at BPL

In a sweeping narrative, the author of the mega-bestseller A Beautiful Mind takes readers on a journey through modern history with the men and women who truly changed the lives of every single person on the planet. From Charles Dickens’ London to modern day Calcutta, Grand Pursuit: The Story of Economic Genius is the epic story of the making of modern economics, and of how it rescued mankind from squalor and deprivation. Sylvia Nasar is the John S. and James L. Knight Professor at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She will be in conversation with Amartya Sen, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to welfare economics and social choice theory, and for his interest in the problems of world’s poorest citizens.

Held in the Rabb Lecture Hall at the Copley Square Branch.
