Driftwood Duet and Strings began life in 2010 as a collaboration between violinist Rachel Massey and cellist Daniel Hawkins through mutual friend and mentor Ran Blake. Since then, they have added the talents of some of the Boston area's most skilled string players to perform in concert. Driftwood's distinctive sound draws from classical music, the string-based folk traditions of Europe, and the Americas, and original commissions and arrangements of everything from Katy Perry to Puccini to Nine Inch Nails.
