Fisher College Presents A Panel Discussion On Adoption

Fisher College announces the presentation of a free Breakfast Panel Discussion on Adoption: Psychology, Human Services, and Gender Studies that is open to the public and will be held on March 6, 2012 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at Fisher College.  

The Breakfast Panel Discussion on Adoption: Psychology, Human Services, and Gender Studies will discuss the complex and enduring issues surrounding adoption, foster care, and family connections from Fisher College faculty, alumni, and experts in the field. The panel topic of discussion is relevant to anyone who is interested in psychology, social work, human services, criminal justice, early childhood education, and gender issues. The value of choice will also be a central theme of the discussion.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Tunde Turi-Markovic, the Assistant Professor and Program Director of Psychology at Fisher College. Panelists for the discussion on adoption will include Fisher alum Cindy McGuiggan ‘85, the Treasurer, Board Member, and Massachusetts Representative for the American Adoption Congress; Paul Shibblehute, the New England Regional Director, Legislative Committee Chairman, and former President of the American Adoption Congress; and Christopher Mittell, the Director of Intensive Foster Care at Cambridge Family & Children’s Service.

This event is open to the public and tickets are free of charge. Tickets may be reserved by visiting www.fisher.edu/alumnievents. A continental breakfast will be served at the event.
