FREE Concert from NEC of John Cage's "58"

New England Conservatory Wind Ensemble Will Perform on Plaza

The First Church of Christ, Scientist is co-sponsoring a performance by the wind-ensemble from New England Conservatory on the Christian Science Plaza, on Thursday, September 27, at 12:00 noon. This is part of a year-long celebration New England Conservatory is participating in celebrating the American composer John Cage.

This will be a performance of his piece "58" outside on the Plaza. Written in 1992, this wonderful 46-minute work for 58 wind players was intended to be performed al-fresco, originally under the arches of the Landhaushof in Graz, Austria. This will be performed under the row of reflecting pool-facing arches on the west side of the Plaza along-side the Colonnade building.
