Making Victorian Dioramas

The Gibson House Museum, Back Bay’s only historic house museum, is presenting  the first of a series of children’s workshops this fall. Taught by early childhood educator Barbara Lapal, the workshops are designed to teach children and have fun too! The workshops will be held in the Gibson House historic kitchen on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00. The workshops are for ages 7 to 9. The cost is $35 per program. Reservations are required: please call 617-267-6338.

This workshop is to build a Victorian diorama, a small-scale replicas of a scene. Each child will be provided a with shoebox and a variety of materials to help them create their own very special scene. They will learn about the children who were raised in the Gibson House and find inspiration from the beautiful rooms they lived in.
