The Smell of Fear: Scary Cheeses

Ghosts and goblins may prove scary for some, but culinary connoisseurs know that true terror comes from cheese. The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) invites the brave of heart to join them on Thursday, October 25th, 2012 from 6:30PM-8:30 PM for The Smell of Fear: Scary Cheeses. Students will push their palates to the limit as they square off against pungent washed-rind and blue cheeses provided by local cheesemonger Adam Centamore. If the cheese succeeds in making you cringe, never fear: a little liquid courage in the form of complimentary wines will be on hand.
Centamore works and teaches at Cambridge’s world-renowned Formaggio Kitchen and is an active member of both the American Cheese Society and the Society of Wine Educators. His knowledge of cheese is, in itself, a little scary, so be warned that the obscure offerings in this class are not suitable for the faint.
The class is $55/$45 for members and has a $25 materials fee. Registration is necessary. Please visit www.bcae.org or call the Boston Center for Adult Education at 617-267-4430 to RSVP.
