Three special summer screenings at the French Cultural Center - June 17, 18 and 30.
The French Cultural Center will present a series of film screenings, with support from the Poitou-Charentes Region and Lafayette’s Hermione.

This 89-minute animated film directed by Thomas Szabo and Hélène Giraud and winner of the César 2015 for Best Animated Film will be presented in its original version with English subtitles.

This month’s Ciné-Club film tells the story of the unlikely friendship between an illiterate handyman (played by Gérard Depardieu) and a well-read older woman.
This 82-minute 2010 film, directed by Jean Becker, will be presented in its original version with English subtitles. The screening will conclude with a discussion led by our in-house film expert, Barbara Bouquegneau.
These events are made possible thanks to the Poitou-Charentes Region, home of Lafayette’s Hermione. To celebrate its ancestor, a replica of the ship is crossing the Atlantic Ocean and will stop in 11 ports in the US, including Boston on July 11th and 12th.

The French Cultural Center will present the filmed performance of a new one-act play by Ian Curteis inspired by the letters between the young Lafayette and his wife Adrienne de Noailles. This play is not only a story of a vital moment in Franco-American history, but also the story of a young couple struggling with separation, love, abandonment and loss.
This event is presented in English.
