Fresh Prospects Presents Bron Don, Bay Faction, and Daephne

Fresh Prospects is a showcase of up-and-coming acts presenting Bron Don, Bay Faction, and Daephne on November 20 at 8PM.

Formed in the fall of 2013 by Berklee freshmen Mitchell Cardoza (vocals/guitar), Michael Cangemi (bass), and John Cattini (guitar/vocals), Bron Don also includes Colin Mohr (drums). Drawing their musical influences from many styles and genres, they came together to create their own unique sound. They released their first EP, The Vibes Project, in February of 2014, and in September 2014, they released their first full-length album, De La Cosmos. Both were self-produced, and De La Cosmos was featured in the February 2015 issue of Boston’s Metronome Magazine as a top-five album pick, with the band itself featured in an April 2015 cover article. Bron Don has also been featured on the blogs Sound of Boston and Olympia for a Day, and played extensively in Boston, New York City, New England, and Spain. They are currently mastering the final tracks for a summer 2015 release of new material, called Bats and Oranges.

Boston-based post-punk trio Bay Faction is the band you haven’t heard but should. Their sound can be defined as a mix of the Fray and Matchbox 20. With their only two influences being Scarecrow Boat and Mouse Rat, their self-titled debut album (due this September) is guaranteed to keep yours ears happy and a tear in your eye.

Dæphne is a 4-piece Bummer Rock band from Boston, MA. After their original singer, Alexa Johnson, found herself unable to perform for medical reasons, the band brought Gia Greene into the mix for live show purposes, and has now recruited Shelby Holden as a full-time, permanent vocalist. With one release through Funeral Sounds under their belt, Dæphne is anticipating a fall release of their first full-length album, offering a departure from the Midwestern 90’s emo style present on Family Vacation, to a sound rooted in grunge. Following the release, dæphne plans to move forward with the new lineup, touring and promoting the album under the support of a label.
