Horse Jumping, Olympic Riders Coming to the Common
Don't miss the Aug. 25 horse show by Charles and Beacon streets.
An Aug. 25 horse show on the Boston Common will feature Olympic Grand Prix riders, jumpers, and more - right down Beacon and Charles streets as workers are on their way home at 5 p.m.
The Putnam Boston Equestrian Classic is a preview of a four-day horse show in September at the in Hamilton.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and the Parks commissioner approved the idea as it will be a charity fundraiser for the now privately funded Boston Park Rangers. The show on the common will also feature demonstrations by the park rangers' Mounted Unit.

“There will be tremendous interest (in Boston) and I think it will be a great preview,” said Don Little, chairman of the Putnam Boston Equestrian Classic.
That annual show in Hamilton will run for four days, Sept. 8-11 and will support the Fisher House in Boston. The Fisher House provides housing for veterans and their families during stays at the VA Medical Center.
