It's So Much Friendlier With...Tour (The Millenium / Marina City / Time Atlas / Wonder City) Live at The Red Room @ Cafe 939

Monday / August 24th / 8:00PM / The Red Room @ Cafe 939 / 939 Boylston Street

Since breaking into the scene in early May, The Millenium has since been hard at work playing shows, showcasing their music, and meeting new people. Thus far, the band has successfully completed numerous Midwest and East Coast tours, securing a loyal fanbase and finding a place in their hearts with their debut EP, It’s So Much Friendlier With Two, a record dedicated to love, loss, and learning.

Fusing the aggressive instrumentals found in hard rock with the catchy vocal melodies and harmonies found in top 40s pop, Marina City has set out to create something that has never been heard before. Classifying themselves as aggressive pop/rock, the quintet has released two EPs, toured heavily from the Midwest to the East Coast, and shared the stage with established acts such as Go Radio, Amanda Palmer, State Champs, Cartel, and Real Friends. This year their newest EP, Chimera, and the music video for their first single, “The Lost Boys,” premiered exclusively on AbsolutePunk.net and was featured on Pup Fresh and Property of Zack.

Wonder City began one night in the fall of 2013 over drinks in a Boston pub, when its founding members bonded over a shared love of lush, buzzy guitar tones and vibrantly distinct vocal lines. The four-piece band soon collaborated on the makings of a bold, yet not wholly unfamiliar, musical style, fueled and inspired in equal parts by shimmery and charging Britrock groups like the Who, Oasis, and the Stone Roses.
