John C. Richmond, MD Named President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America

Orthopedic surgeon and medical director for network development at New England Baptist Hospital will lead group of over 3,600 physicians.

John C. Richmond, MD, orthopedic surgeon and medical director for network development at New England Baptist Hospital , a Boston-based premier regional provider for orthopedic surgery and the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and disorders, has been named President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).

In this role, Dr. Richmond will lead the AANA mission to promote, encourage, support and foster the development and dissemination of knowledge in arthroscopic surgery while improving upon the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. AANA is made up of over 3,600 physicians worldwide. “It is a great honor to be elected by my peers to lead such a talented group of physicians,” said Dr. Richmond. “I am proud to bring my experience and the expertise of New England Baptist Hospital to the AANA, and to better the field of arthroscopic surgery on the national level.”

Dr. Richmond has had a distinguished career to date, holding a number of senior positions including Chairman of Orthopedics at NEBH, Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Director of the Sports Medicine Clinic at Tufts Medical Center, President of the Eastern Orthopedic Association, and head team physician for the Tufts University Athletic Department. He holds an academic appointment as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania.
