La Coupe du Monde - The World Cup

This year the World Cup returns to Brazil, and since we cannot invite
you to Brazil, we would like you to join us at the Center to watch
l’Équipe de France play their matches. We'll be watching the games on a
large size screen, so you'll experience the World Cup as if you were
there (comme si vous y étiez)!

The soccer World Cup or the FIFA World Cup is an international soccer
competition which takes place usually every four years. The competition
was established in 1928 in France, under the leadership of Jules Rimet,
president of FIFA at that time. The Cup is open to all federations
recognized by the International Association of Football Federations
(FIFA). The first edition was held in 1930 in Uruguay, whose national
team emerged victorious.
