Logan Richardson

Logan Richardson Live at the David Friend Recital Hall

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Logan Richardson was born and raised with a rich historical lineage of improvisational musical talent. As a young saxophonist, Richardson was fortunate to have the opportunity to draw from hometown legends such as Jay McShann, Claude "Fiddler" Williams, Ahmad Alaadeen, Sonny Kenner, Eddie Saunders, and many more. By the age of 19, Richardson relocated to Boston to study with Billy Pierce at Berklee College of Music, but in his second year of study, Richardson decided to move to New York City, where he lived for 10 years after receiving a full scholarship to study at the New School. He began performing, recording, and touring internationally with artists such as Nasheet Waits, Stefon Harris, and Greg Tardy, to name a few, aside from activity with his own band. Now 35 years old, Richardson is releasing his third album, SHIFT, his debut with major label Blue Note Records (under Universal Music Group). His band includes Pat Metheny, Jason Moran, Harish Raghavan, and Nasheet Waits. - See more at: https://www.berklee.edu/events/logan-richardson#sthash.HSGFGJ8D.dpuf
