The Light Foundation hosts a party, at Harpoon Brewery, to celebrate the fundraising efforts of their runners for the 2016 Boston Marathon!

For the first time since its inception, the Light Foundation has been granted three Boston Marathon running bibs through the John Hancock Nonprofit Program to support its fundraising efforts. In honor of this milestone and the committed runners, called team “Speed of Light,” the Foundation will host a marathon kick-off party at Harpoon Brewery on March 9th, 2016.

Tickets for the event are $50 and include an open bar of Harpoon Brewery’s fine beer selection, their famous soft pretzels and additional complimentary catering provided by top notch restaurant, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. Doors open at 6:30PM, and the event runs until 10:00PM.

The event will feature former New England Patriot and Light Foundation founder Matt Light, and special guests: Dave McGillivray, The B.A.A Boston Marathon Race Director; Peter King, Sports Illustrated Writer & NBC Football Analyst; and Mike Reiss, ESPN Boston Reporter.

Light says he’s grateful for the support of these special guests, and their willingness to share their knowledge and expertise for a cause he holds so dear. “It is amazing that Dave McGillivray, Peter King and Mike Reiss are taking the time out of their incredibly busy schedules to help the Light Foundation. They’re all such well-known icons in the sports world and each provides such a unique perspective for this exclusive event,” he adds. “I know the crowd in attendance will be fascinated by what they have to say.”
