NewTV Adding 2 new HD Channels with RCN

Now, all of Newton's community programming will be in high definition

RCN Boston and NewTV announced today that they have launched two new high definition (HD) channels for community television programming. These are the second and third HD channels for NewTV which launched its first channel, #(613,) in 2013, the most HD channels for any community television network in Massachusetts on the RCN system.

The additional HD channels, #(614) and #(629) will be dedicated to government and educational programming. The NewTVg Government Channel, #(614) features municipal meetings such as City Council and School Committee, in addition to original shows including “Beyond the Badge” and “Books and Beyond”. The NewTVe Education Channel, #(629) features programming for students, teachers and administrators, and also includes the Emmy® Award-winning series, “The Folklorist.” The Community Channel, NewTVc #(613,) will continue to offer quality programming created by and for the community.
