FREE Oh, Malô / Grey Season / Sara Kendall show on Saturday, August 1st, at 8pm at 939 Boylston Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02215

Oh, Malô (oh-muh-LOW) presents colorful soundscapes through their eclecticism, inspired by a series of emotions and experiences. Founded in 2014, the band had immediate chemistry and completed the writing of their debut album in a mere three months. Oh, Malô pulls influence from such bands as Bombay Bicycle Club, Radiohead, Local Natives, Daughter, and Jeff Buckley to create a consistently unpredictable blend of timbres and arrangements. The summer of last year was spent recording and refining their songs in anticipation of exciting new releases in 2015. They have thus far released three color-themed EPs, each representing the dynamic mental and emotional stages following an intense breakup. The six songs from these EPs will be joined with another six unreleased tracks to complete their debut LP, available this September.
Grey Season is a five-piece folk/rock band based out of Boston. The members met in 2011 and began crafting their music by busking on the streets of Boston and Cambridge, learning how to please and cultivate an audience in the process. After releasing their debut EP, Troilus, in May 2013, they have performed at a variety of venues throughout the Northeast, from radio stations and basements to galleries and concert venues. Recently, they appeared as a spotlight artist at one of the secret shows organized by the Boston branch of Sofar Sounds, an organization that showcases emerging independent artists from around the world. They’re also a regular act at concerts presented by the Murdock Manor, a local booking and production agency. After a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign, Grey Season recorded their first full-length LP in January 2014 with Grammy-winning engineer Justin Guip and Boston Music Award producer of the year Benny Grotto. The album, Time Will Tell You Well, was released on April 26th and can be streamed on their Bandcamp site.
Sara Kendall is an alternative pop songwriter from Southborough, Massachusetts currently studying at Berklee College of Music. She has been integrating her piano and vocal skills with songwriting to play acoustic sets with her looper and, most recently, with her band. She is working on releasing a new EP in the summer of 2015. Kendall’s haunting melodies and intimate lyrics are showcased in her newest release, “Love You More,” which was recently featured on Berklee’s official YouTube channel and has received 13,000 views.
