UPDATE: Man Arrested After False Bomb Threat at Back Bay Station
Officers held up a train while searching for a man who reportedly threatened to blow up a train in the Back Bay station Wednesday.

Police reportedly have a man in custody after he allegedly threatened to blow up a train at the Back Bay T station, causing severe delays on the Orange Line Wednesday morning.
The threat turned out to be false and police stressed there was no danger to commuters.
Joesph Johnson, 30, of Boston, was charged with making a false bomb threat. He is expected to be arraigned Boston Municipal Court-Central Division sometime Thursday.

A southbound train was held at the Back Bay station for 20 minutes just after 9 a.m. while officers interviewed witnesses and searched for the man who reportedly made unspecified threats. Officers searched the city until spotting Johnson on Washington Street just outside Tufts Medical Center MBTA station.
“We take incidents such as these with the utmost urgency and seriousness,” Lieutenant Richard Sullivan said. “Our number one priority is the safety and security of our patrons and employees. We will work with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office to ensure Johnson is held accountable for his actions. A clear message must be sent; behavior and statements such as exhibited by Johnson will not and cannot be tolerated on the MBTA. We apologize to anyone who may have been inconvenienced by this mornings incident .“
