Playoffs sure to bring increased data demand

Over the course of the regular season, Pats fans used 5,000+ GB of data

BOSTON - It’s playoff season in New England once again – and tens of thousands of Patriots fans will be flocking to Foxborough this weekend to watch Tom Brady & Company begin the road to Houston.

And AT&T is making sure all of our customers lucky enough to go to the stadium are able to share their experience with friends and family. Data demand will be off the charts on Saturday, as fans text back and forth with their families – and, of course, post their live updates and photos to social media.
AT&T says they'll be tracking the amount of data used on Saturday – but in the meantime, here are some fun facts from the regular season:

  • Over the course of eight regular season Patriots games, fans used more than 5,000 GB of data – that’s the equivalent of 14 million photos shared to Facebook!
  • The most popular game of the year: The matchup against the Cincinnatti Bengals on Oct. 16 – a game New England won 35-17. That day, fans used a total of 660 GB!

Stay tuned for more data facts as the playoffs roll along -- and go PATS!
