The Quarry Restaurant Hosts Alois Lageder Five-Course Winemaker Dinner on September 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Celebrated Family-Owned Italian Winery Showcases Classic Varietals and Terroir Selections at The Quarry Restaurant in Hingham on Sept. 22

Hingham, MA (September 9, 2015) - The Quarry Restaurant, known for its extensive list of hand-picked wines and a recent “Award of Excellence” by Wine Spectator Magazine will host a special alfresco wine dinner with Alois Lageder winery on Tuesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. Special guest of the evening is Urs Vetter, Commercial Director at Alois Lageder, and a noted sommelier in several of the premier Michelin star restaurants in Europe. Mr. Vetter will lead diners through a magical wine tasting.

“Urs Vetter brings a lively passion for the production and true enjoyment wines of distintion,” said The Quarry’s Ed Peterman, who holds the distinction as New England’s first sommelier certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers of London. “These extraordinary vintages will be thoughtfully paired with some of The Quarry restaurant’s favorite dishes.”

The dinner features a special five-course meal prepared by The Quarry’s Executive Chef and Partner Greg Jordan and is expertly paired with Alois Lageder wines. Dinner is $100. Seating for the wine dinner is limited so reserve your space by contacting 781-340-7300.

First Course: Kampachi crudo, pickled native gooseberries, sea salt, evoo; Wine: 2013 Riesling “Rain” Südtirol, Alto Adige, Italy

Second Course: Seared Scallops, saffron corn broth, charred & popped corn, blistered Padron peppers; Wine: 2013 Chardonnay, Südtirol, Alto Adige, Italy

Third Course: Bucatini all’Amatriciana, fresh pasta with a speck & guanciale ragu, grated Piave cheese, crispy speck crumbs; Wine: 2013 St. Magdalener “Oberingram” Südtirol, Alto Adige, Italy

Fourth Course: Veal Saltimboca, wild mushroom trifolati; Wine: 2013 Lagrein Riserva “Conus” Südtirol, Alto Adige, Italy

Fifth Course: Robiola cheese plate with local honeycomb, ripe fruit & nuts; Wine: 2013 Moscato Rosa “Rosenmuskateller” Südtirol, Alto Adige, Italy
