The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is hosting a new series, “Rarely Seen: Boston’s
Historic Treasures.” The three class series aims to offer Bostonians a glimpse
into their city’s mysterious and intriguing history through visiting three
prominent historic locations.
The third class takes
students to The Massachusetts Historical
Society on Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 from 5:30PM to 7:00PM. Here, participants will discover noteworthy manuscripts such as
the intimate letters between John and Abigail Adams. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy Red Sox
artifacts like their 1912 World Series medal. Rare presidential gems such as Thomas
Jefferson’s architectural drawings and epaulettes worn by George Washington
will also be on display. Participants will have the chance to tour a
behind-the-scenes tour of the conservation lab and a visit to the stacks.
