Sarah Neufeld: The Ridge / Eartheater
Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire violinist) with Eartheater LIVE at the Red Room

Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre) is a violinist and composer based in Montréal, Canada. She has been formally working on music for solo violin for four years, influenced by Bela Bartok, Steve Reich, Iva Bittova, and Arthur Russell and by contemporary electro-acoustic, avant-folk, and indie-rock music. Constellation Records released Neufeld’s debut solo album, Hero Brother (2013), a melange of atmospheres and ambience that is both emotive and energetic. This accomplished musician and performer recently formed an exciting new duo with renowned saxophonist Colin Stetson; they toured together throughout 2015. During that time, Neufeld also finished her second album, due to be released in 2016. She is currently planning a solo tour to support it.
Eartheater is Alexandra Drewchin, a New York–based musician known for her shamanic performances fronting Guardian Alien. Eartheater is Drewchin’s unshackled solo vessel, a deliberate distillation of voice, synths, guitar, and electronic production techniques into short-form compositions teeming with details. In October 2015, she released her second album on her year on Hausu Mountain,RIP Chrysalis. Neatly following her debut, Metalepsis, RIP Chrysalis is a stunning step, building layered electronic productions with enough detail to constitute stand-alone worlds. Eartheater is Drewchin’s personal evolution, a musical process both tethered to advancing technologies and to the flashes of humanity that escape between the circuits.
