Stefan Jarausch Named Executive Chef at Top of the Hub
Chef renowned for his unique culinary perspective, devoted to eclectic menus showcasing fresh flavors and inventive ingredients.

Stefan Jarausch has been named Executive Chef at Top of the Hub restaurant. The appointment was announced by Peter Papagelis, General Manager at Top of the Hub and Skywalk Observatory, both owned and operated by Select Restaurants, Inc. Located on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower in Boston’s historic Back Bay, Top of the Hub celebrated 50 years of service to Boston’s discerning dining community in 2015.
Chef Stefan is renowned for his unique culinary perspective and meticulous attention to detail. In his new role, he will be devoted to creating eclectic New England Regional Cuisine menus showcasing fresh flavors and inventive ingredients.During his time in the Boston area, he has developed a strong appreciation for the abundant availability of fresh seafood. His goal is to provide guests at Top of the Hub with an exceptional dining experience where the food serves as the impressive centerpiece of each visit.
Additionally, he will manage all kitchen operations and direct the full culinary team serving both the iconic restaurant as well as all special events held on the Skywalk Observatory.
Chef Stefan traces his initial interest in the culinary arts to his boyhood in Bielefeld Germany, where his passion for food was ignited by the way fine food, enjoyed in good company, had a way of bringing people of all cultures together.
In addition to studying at the Brillat Savarin Oberschule in Germany, Chef Stefan apprenticed in Germany and spent two years working in Switzerland before moving to France where he secured a position working under renowned Chef Paul Bocuse at Bocuse’s 3 Michelin-star restaurant, L’Auberge Du Pont de Collonges, near Lyon.
Chef Stefan arrived in the United States in 1994 and devoted a decade working for Ritz-Carlton Hotels across the country. Following Executive Chef positions at the Chase Park Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Madison Hotel in Washington, D. C., he was named Executive Chef at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel where, among his many accomplishments, he oversaw the development and transformation of the hotel’s renowned 4-Star Oak Long Bar & Kitchen. He subsequently launched Seasons 52 in Burlington where he served as Executive Chef Partner.
Welcoming residents and visitors alike with outstanding cuisine, impeccable service and sophisticated ambiance, Top of the Hub was named one of the world’s most romantic dining destinations by The Travel Channel. Open seven days a week, serving lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch in addition to offering a late night dining menu and live entertainment seven nights a week, the restaurant is proud to have received continued industry recognition from Distinguished Restaurants of North America as well as multiple Awards of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine.
