New England Patriots fans have found themselves in a strange position these past few years.   Red Sox fans were once famous for being long-suffering, but their last championship came in 2007 after just 2 years without one.  Celtics fans last got a championship in 2008, and Bruins fans even got their trophy this year after a 30+ year drought.  With their last Super Bowl win taking place in 2004, Patriots fans are the only ones who haven't gotten a trophy in the last 5 years.  And, to make things more dramatic, the last time the Patriots came close to the national title, they lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants in 2008, who they face again this year.   So, Back Bay, how do you feel about this upcoming contest against New York?  Vote in our poll, and let us know how, and if, you're celebrating in the neighborhood!

Fireworks return to Somerville skies on Tuesday, June 30, at the City annual summer celebration featuring live music, food, family-friendly activities, and of course, a fireworks finale.
Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with live music from Plutos Return, a Somerville High School alumni band. DJ Live will follow with a lively mix of pop, soul, funk, and classic hits, and at 7:45 p.m., local funk band Search Party takes the stage.
At approximately 9 p.m., Mayor Jake Wilson will deliver brief remarks, followed by the National Anthem and the official countdown to the fireworks show. Food vendors will be available throughout the evening, including local Somerville favorites, plus classic treats like fried dough and lemonade.Due to the large crowds and loud noise associated with Somerville Firworks, the City recommends that attendees leave pets at home and avoid bringing unnecessary bags or backpacks. All bags and backpacks are subject to inspection.
To support public safety and pedestrian access, traffic and parking restrictions and road closures will be in place in the area around Trum Field. Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Leaders 4SC is a summer workshop for middle school (rising 5th to 10th grade) students on writing and speaking, as well as leadership, communication, decision-making, and advocacy. Our goal is to train the next generation of civic leaders: members of a community who actively participate in society.<a href="https://leaders4sc.org" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">SIGN&nbsp;UP</a>
By the end of each week, students will have<ul><li>Completed at least one writing or speaking assignment arguing for and defending their opinion on any current issues</li><li>Participated in daily discussions and activities on a different major current event every day</li><li>Participated in daily task force activities to role play as key decision makers and stakeholder</li><li>Discussed, debated, and bonded with an incredible group of engaged young people! </li></ul>
