Victor Wooten/Steve Bailey Bass Bash / Nikki Glaspie and the Nth Power

Saturday / June 18, 2016 / 7:00 p.m. Berklee Performance Center 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02115, United States

This evening will feature two performances: the annual Victor Wooten/Steve Bailey Bass Bash and the Nth Power fronted by powerhouse Nikki Glaspie.

The Victor Wooten/Steve Bailey Bass Bash will be a jazz/funk/rock extravaganza, featuring the music of Wooten, a five-time Grammy winner and Berklee performance scholar in residence, and Bailey, chair of Berklee's Bass Department and six-string fretless bass pioneer, along with virtuoso drummers JD Blair and Derico Watson. This annual concert is improvised, melodic, and funky.

Proving that soul music can be exponentially greater than the sum of its parts, the Nth Power is on a mission to share the light. Formed during an impromptu late-night jam at Jazz Fest 2012 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the relentlessly funky and soulful band believes in music as a higher power, tapping into an energy that is simultaneously sexy and spiritual with songs that will inspire audiences to dance, groove, make love, or just stand there with goosebumps.
