1 Dead, 3 Seriously Hurt After Motorcycles Crash on Cape Cod

A 48-year-old Rhode Island man was killed early Friday morning.

One person was killed and three people were seriously hurt after two motorcycles crashed in Yarmouth early Friday morning.

The crash happened at about 1 a.m. on Route 28 near Old Main Street.

Police said Bruce Fernandes, 48, of Pascoag, R.I., was operating a Harley-Davidson with his 24-year-old daughter, Brittany, riding on back. He hit likely a curb and lost control. Bruce Fernandes died of his injuries.

His brother, Scott, 45, of Woonsocket, R.I., was operating another Harley-Davidson and also crashed. He and his passenger, Amy Tessier, 25, of Pascoag, were hurt but expected to survive. Brittany Fernandes was also expected to survive.

“The Yarmouth Police Department extends our condolences to the Fernandes family,” Yarmouth police said in a statement.
