1 Dead In Cape Cod Crash Involving Regional Transit Bus

A 39-year-old Centerville man died from injuries sustained in an Old Stage Road crash, police said.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A Cape Cod man is dead following a three-vehicle crash involving a Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus, police announced.

Around 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the Barnstable Police Department were called to Old Stage Road near Carleton Lane in Centerville for an accident with personal injury.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers found an accident involving three vehicles, including a bus from the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority. Due to the severity of the crash, one of the drivers wasn't breathing, so officers began to perform CPR on him, police said.

Centerville Osterville Marstons Mills Fire Department rescue personnel arrived shortly after. They treated and transported three people from the accident scene to Cape Cod Hospital.

Soon after arriving at the hospital, the unresponsive driver, a 39-year-old man from Centerville, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
