2 Found Dead After Cape Cod Fire

Firefighters investigating a smell of smoke found the home on fire early Monday morning.

WELLFLEET, MA – Two people were found dead after a fire on Cape Cod, police said. Firefighters found the blaze on Lieutenant Island around 12:30 a.m. Monday while investigating a smell of smoke in South Wellfleet.

Several departments helped put the fire out, which was contained to 65 4th St., police said. The building was declared a total loss.

Investigators found two people dead in the home. They have not yet been identified.
