2 Killed In Cotuit Crash

A third person is in the hospital following an overnight crash on Rt. 28.

COTUIT, MA – Two people were killed in an overnight crash in Cotuit. A third person is hospitalized in Boston with life-threatening injuries.

The two-car crash happened around 12:15 a.m. on Rt. 28 near the Rt. 130 intersection. Cotuit Fire, Rescue and Emergency services told the Cape Cod Times a Toyota sedan caught fire and ripped in half; both people inside were ejected from the car.

One was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to Cape Cod Hospital before being transferred.

The driver of the other vehicle, an SUV, died at the hospital after being extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life, according to reports.
