A car fire and another at a home under construction both happened within 40 minutes of each other.

HYANNIS, MA — Two fires that broke out within an hour of each other Sunday in Hyannis were deemed suspicious and are under the investigation of state and local fire officials.

The first fire happened around 11 p.m. Fire officials said they found a car engulfed in flames parked in a driveway of a home on Fresh Holes Road.

Officials said the fire was extinguished quickly, and no injuries were reported. But just 40 minutes later, the department received another call about a fire at a home under construction on Hiramar Road. This fire was just a block away from the first one.
