22-Year-Old Man ID'd In Deadly Cape Cod Kayak Capsize
Emergency responders found the recreational boater off Wellfleet late Saturday.
CAPE COD, MA — The 22-year-old man who died Saturday while kayaking off Wellfleet has been identified.
Nicholas Alvernaz, a resident of Cotuit, was found after a two-hour search that evening and which involved responders from multiple agencies.
There were few explanations or details Wednesday in a notice from officials about his death.

Emergency responders answered a call around 6 p.m. Saturday about a kayaker in distress.
A search team from Wellfleet, Eastham, Truro and the Coast Guard found Alvernaz at 8:02 p.m. and brought him to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He was later pronounced dead.
