4 Rescued After Fishing Boat Hits Rocks Off Cape Cod Coast

The Coast Guard sent a boat from Woods Hole and a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod to complete the rescue.

YARMOUTH, MA — A U.S. Coast Guard crew rescued four people when their fishing boat ran aground after hitting some rocks.

Coast Guard officials said they received a call around 11:40 p.m., that the vessel was taking on water about a half mile off Point Gammon in Yarmouth.

The Coast Guard sent a boat from Woods Hole and a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod to complete the rescue.

The Coast Guard boat made it to the fishermen and brought them to Hyannis. Officials said the rescue took about an hour, and no injuries were reported.
