5 Arrested, Child Rescued in Local Drug Raid

Barnstable police assisted Falmouth police in the early morning raid Thursday.

Barnstable police on Thursday assisted in the raid a home on Homestead Lane in East Falmouth that resulted in the arrests of five people on drug charges.

Officers said they found a small child living at the residence, which had heroin, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and distribution materials lying around.

Police raided the home at 132 Homestead Ln. at about 5:30 a.m.. They had a search warrant after receiving “numerous” complaints from neighbors about drug activity there. Police also raided the home in August 2014.

Officers said they found eight people inside the home Thursday. Five were charged:

  • Gerald Cardoza, 33, charged with heroin possession with intent to distribute and fentanyl possession with intent to distribute
  • Sean Desouza, 20, charged with crack cocaine possession with intent to distribute
  • Rocco Gomes, 26, charged with being present where drugs are kept
  • Kyle Geggatt, 23, charged with being present where drugs are kept
  • Warren Antone, 29, charged with being present where drugs are kept

Police said they notified the state Department of Children and Families to care for the child. They said additional charges may be filed.

Police said undercover agents made controlled drug purchases at the residence in the days leading up to the raid.

Falmouth police were assisted by Mashpee police, Barnstable police, and members of the Cape & Island Drug Task Force.
