5 Injured In Vehicle Crash On Cape Cod
The accident Friday night involved two motor vehicles, one of which rolled over, police said.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Five people were injured Friday night in a crash here involving two motor vehicles, police said.
The accident occurred around 8:36 p.m. in the village of Cotuit, at the crossing of Route 28 and Santuit-Newtown Road, according to a statement Saturday. Four people were transported to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, and a fifth later came there also seeking treatment.
One of the four people transported by ambulance had experienced “multisystem trauma,” according to the Barnstable police. The names and conditions of those injured weren’t immediately available.

The statement said that one of the vehicles appeared to have rolled over, damaging three of its sides before coming to rest on the driver’s side.
In addition to police, fire and rescue personnel from Cotuit and several other local communities responded to the scene. The Barnstable Police Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
