5 Students, 1 Adult Hospitalized After Barnstable Van Accident: Reports

There was only one injury after the vehicle went off Route 6 on Tuesday.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Five students and an adult were taken to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a van crashed Tuesday on US Route 6.

The accident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. near Exit 65, the junction with MA Route 149, in West Barnstable, according to multiple reports.

By the time emergency crews arrived, the students and the driver had left the van, and all went to the hospital to be evaluated. One student was treated for a laceration.

Officials didn’t say what caused the accident, which damaged the van extensively.
