Shark researchers said they do not know what caused the death of a 6-foot porbeagle shark on Cape Cod.

WELLFLEET, MA — A 6-foot porbeagle shark was found dead on a Cape Cod beach, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy announced. Conservancy researchers said the shark was found about a half-mile away from Marconi Beach in Wellfleet Sunday.
Researchers said they do not know what caused the shark's death. The organization reached out to the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries to study how the shark died.
Porbeagle sharks are usually found in cold Atlantic Ocean climates and can reach a length of about 8 feet and weight of around 300 pounds.
