A Little Bit of Paradise at Solstice Day Spa
The Thursday Patch Passport shows you a Little Bit of Paradise. This is a local place where you can feel like you are a million miles away from the daily stress of life, without having to go far from home. Come along and relax...
To owner Sheryl Baba, giving a facial is like ballroom dancing and shaping eyebrows is like finding diamonds in the rough. In both instances, she takes pride in sweeping her fingers on a client's face and wants to make their brows sparkle.Â
When Baba was growing up she wanted to be a vet, but after 22 years in the beauty business one could say she has found her passion. Baba's enthusiasm, interest and amazing energy ooze from her when she talks shop.Â
Solstice's ninth birthday is this August and Baba said business just keeps getting better.Â

Baba said the new salon space below Puritan is practically perfect - it was the right space to make a move for. Solstice was previously located in a wellness center off Independence Drive.
The new space, almost 3,000 square feet, is a soothing, relaxing and fun space.

What makes it a place perfect for escaping the doldrums of every day?Â
There are three distinct areas to be pampered in completely different ways.
It's tranquil and modern feeling main area with a nail bar, makeup station, pedicure station and sweeping laminate wood floor and gentle tones of wood and ocean blue make a beautiful entry way.Â
There is a "cocoon environment" in the facial, waxing and massage rooms. The rooms have a separate temperature control and are warm, with cozy carpet and meditative spa music.
The hair salon alcove has a separate cooling system and enough distance to keep the sounds of chattering women contained.
What's more, Baba said she knows people must really love the spa because 75 to 80 percent of people who visit the spa re-book after an appointment.Â
Ready to indulge in an escape?
Take a virtual trip by following the application of a Sea Facial ($83). The Sea Facial is a rubberized, peel-off mask consisting of reconstituted algae. It calms, temporarily tightens and sooths skin of all types reducing redness. It's ideal for sensitive dehydrated or environmentally stressed skin. Â
Want to try something differen? Here is what the spa offers:
