34-Year-Old Man Faces Charges After Erratic Driving In Downtown Hyannis: Report

Police responded Thursday evening to a call about the driver, who was running stop signals with his car's headlights off.

HYANNIS, MA — A Hyannis man with a suspended license may face criminal charges after a traffic complaint and police stop Thursday evening, the Hyannis News reported.

Barnstable police responded to a call about a BMW X2 traveling erratically on North Street shortly before 7 p.m. The car had its headlights off and was running stop signals, the newspaper said.

An officer pulled the car over near the McDonald's restaurant on North Street. The driver then requested an ambulance, saying he might be experiencing a medical problem. A Hyannis Fire Department ambulance responded.

A records check identified the motorist as a 34-year-old Hyannis man with a suspended driver's license.

According to the newspaper, the man is expected to be summoned on charges including negligent operation of a motor vehicle and other offenses.
