Goode, King Win Barnstable School Board Race, Schnepp Re-Elected

BARNSTABLE, MA — The school committee race was narrow in Barnstable, but according to unofficial results, Peter Goode and Andre King will be the town's newest members of the school committee, beating out incumbent Stephanie Ellis.

Goode finished with the most votes with 1,416, while King held a narrow lead of 1,141-1,114 over Ellis.

"I am pleasantly surprised at the results," Goode said. "I simply would like to thank all who voted for me, and I am looking forward to attending my first school committee meeting."

No changes came to the Town Council. Barnstable, which has half its town council members up for election every other year, had even numbered districts on the ballot this year, running for four-year terms. But just one of those districts saw a contested race. That's Precinct 12, where incumbent Paula Schnepp squared off against Donald Lynde. Schnepp won 224-148.
