Barnstable Arsonist Sentenced
Matthew Pungitore admitted to setting four house fires in April 2013.
A Barnstable arsonist was sentenced to eight years in prison for setting four house fires across town in 2013.

Matthew Pungitore, 29, was pleaded guilty to four counts of arson and one count of injuring a firefighter. He was also sentenced to 10 years probation.
Police said he set fires at 45 Pilgrim Ln., 33 Pilgrim Ln., 27 Pilgrim Ln., and 135 Baxter Road on April 20, 2013. One firefighter was hurt battling the flames; all the houses were heavily damaged. All of the homes were unoccupied, seasonal homes.

Police said they found Pungitore’s fingerprint’s inside 27 Pilgrim Ln., leading to his arrest.
