Barnstable Clerk Extends Hours For Primary Election Registrations
The Town Clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, giving residents an opportunity to register by the deadline.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The last day to register to vote in the 2022 primary elections is Saturday, Aug. 27. In a move to allow for increased access to registration, the Town Clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Town officials announced the decision in a statement on Facebook on Thursday, noting that the office will be open only for voter registration issues.
Saturday also marks the last day to register to vote in the special town council elections, where races in precincts 3 and 5 are happening.

The 2020 Federal Census caused necessary redistricting in many places in the country, in Barnstable is no exception. So, the town made precinct boundary changes to comply with redistricting laws.
What that means for local voters is they may be casting their ballots somewhere new this year.

Town officials are urging people to verify their voting location, which can be done at this link.
Any person who is currently registered to vote does not have to re-register. Only people who have moved into town, or within the Town of Barnstable, or have changed their address, mailing address or name, will need to contact the Town Clerk’s office by that date.
