Barnstable County Deadline Approaches For American Rescue Plan Grants

The deadline for the $5 million grant program is Sept. 30. Here's what to know.

BARNSTABLE COUNTY, MA — The deadline for American Rescue Plan Act grant money is approaching in Barnstable County.

The county's ARPA $5 million competitive grant program is available to non-county local government units, nonprofits, and private/for-profit organizations, officials said. These grants will support the region’s economic recovery from COVID-19.

This grant program is in addition to $10 million in Barnstable County APRA grants currently available to the 15 towns on Cape Cod.

The deadline to submit a letter of intent is Sept. 30.

The American Rescue Plan Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden in March of 2021. Barnstable County was allocated $41.3 million in federal grant funds to use from 2021 to 2026 on COVID-19 recovery efforts and "regional investments in key areas," officials said.

According to county officials, all 15 towns have received federal ARPA funds.
