Barnstable Couple Charged in 2 Armed Robberies: ICYMI

Barnstable couple charged in two armed robberies: in case you missed it.

BOURNE, MA — A Barnstable couple were arrested Friday morning, charged with robbing two gas stations in Bourne. Nazario Garate, 34, and Jessica Walton, 27, face a host of charges.

Police said the pair robbed the Sagamore Bridge Shell at about 1:50 a.m. and then hit the Bourne Bridge Mobil around 2:05 a.m. They hopped in their vehicle and tried to flee on Interstate 195 west, but police in Mattapoisett stopped the vehicle for driving violations and the pair was arrested on the spot, authorities said.

Walton was driving the vehicle and Garate was in the passenger seat, police said.

The pair were charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.

"The Bourne Police Department would like to thank the Mattapoisett Police Department, the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police for their assistance in bringing a swift resolution to these robberies," Bourne police said in a statement.
