Barnstable Crash Hospitalizes 3

BARNSTABLE, MA — A serious crash over the weekend in Barnstable forced one person to be flown to a hospital for treatment, officials said.

Early Saturday morning, the West Barnstable Fire Department and Sandwich Fire Department responded to this rollover crash on Route 6 East at the town line, fire officials said.

Two people were transported to Cape Cod Hospital and one person was flown by Medflight helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital. One person had to be extricated from the car, officials said.

"The road was closed for some time," officials said, noting that ambulances from the Barnsable and the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Departments also assisted at the crash site.
