Barnstable Drainage Improvements To Alter Traffic Patterns
Barnstable Department of Public Works officials will begin performing drainage improvements on Hyannis-Barnstable Road starting on Tuesday.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Drainage improvements are coming this week on a local Barnstable road, altering traffic patterns this week.
Barnstable Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin performing drainage improvements on Hyannis-Barnstable Road, on the south side of the intersection with Route 6A starting on Tuesday.
The improvements include modifications to existing drainage systems and the installation of additional new leaching structures, officials said. As a result, localized traffic will be reduced to a single-lane alternating.

These drainage modifications will improve the stormwater collection system in this area, officials said.
Work is expected to be completed within one week, weather permitting.
